Berkshire - Urbandale
Berkshire Estates is located about 3.2 miles west of I-80/35 right off Douglas Parkway. The drive to Berkshire Estates is very scenic with beautiful trees, open fields, and sprawling landscaped lawns wrapped around impressive homes on both sides of the street.
Located between Douglas Parkway and Meredith Drive is a 200+ acre natural park that has bike trails and willbe expanded in the next several years. Urbandale's extensive trail system currently include more than 33 miles of maintained trails. Maps of the trails are available at www.urbandale.org. Also, the City of Urbandale maintains 12 tennis courts that are available at South Karen Acres Park, Walker Johnston Park, and Lions Park, which are free to the public.
The Waukee School System is a very sought after educational facility; the Des Moines Christian School is just up the street; St. Pius X School is on 66th Street; and many other schools are just moments away. You are just moments from the Valley West Mall, the Jordan Creek Mall and the Merle Hay Mall; easy access to the interstate; and moments from the Metro Ice Sports Arena,Jumping' Jacks (kid's party place), Living History Farms, Urbandale Golf and Country Club, Urbandale Swimming Pool, and multitudes of other fun and exciting activities such as the new skateboard park at Walker Johnson Park, which also has soccer and baseball fields.
